11:10: KBOA Finances: Treasurer: Josh Bennett, Bennett’s Accounting Services

  • Wells Fargo Bank Balance: Checking $58,964.10  Savings $28,024.43  

  • TO DO: 2020 BUDGET!       

11:15: Organization Update

  • Updates from KNO: 1.10.20 Meeting Minutes Lantas Gras has 15 scholarships

  • Next NPU-O Meeting: Tuesday Jan 28 @ 7pm- Bessie Branham Recreation Center / Carrie or Member-At-Large will be bringing information to KBOA

  • Nonprofit Award Applications open February 3, 2020 at kirkwoodbiz.com We’re looking at the application process - any changes to the format and email will be sent out on Feb 3 


11:25: Community Discussion: Where do we allocate our funds in 2020?

  • Estimated amounts will be based on 2020 budget with 2019 actuals.  See 2019 budget

    • Standing investments:  idealDESIGN,inc, Downtown Kirkwood clean up 6x year, Kirkwood Wine Stroll, Operations, Storage Unit. 

  • Board ideas include a microgrant to a StartMe Cohort, set partnership donation to Kirkwood Cares on a specific house - it develops a stronger relationship between KBOA & Kirkwood Cares, Start a Wellness Program for School Teachers and 1st Responders in Kirkwood and hold a series of business seminars in 2020. 

  • What are your ideas? Social media class for business owners, free consultation for the winner in the seminar, share consulting in the food industry (practice safe food prep), legal business class: incorporating, business planning, structuring your business, seminar on healthcare for small businesses - if we can get healthcare through KBOA, benefits for small businesses, have something on grants - investigate all the different grants that are available in GA, 

  • Anyone opposed about the microgrant for StartMe? NO

  • Add a mindset/business coaching

  • Create a voting/priority for seminars

  • Can LantaGras get more involved with KBOA re: sponsorship
