11:05: Approve/Amend: April 18, 2017 Meeting Minutes

Motion to Approve; Emily Wimbush- APPROVED

 

11:10: KBOA Finances: Treasurer: Parker Smith

  • Bank Balance: $29,524.20       PayPal Pending: $484.30            Current May P&L 2017

  • KBOA Taxes due June 15

 

11:15: Organization Update

  • Shared Storage Unit with KNO complete!

  • 10x7 Storage Unit- Sharing with KNO Extra Space Storage

    • No Keys; all Board Members have Key Code access

    • All KBOA items clearly labeled

    • Create sign-in/sign-out sheet

 

11:20: Membership- Chair: Dan Wingate- The Pullman

Welcome package: 2017 membership decal/ I love KWD stickers + One Sheet Intro

  • Membership:  Total Members: 57 Active :-). 13 Lapsed

    • Lapsed Members should turn up around Wine Stroll

  • New Members:  Cummin Landscape Supply, Scout & Arrow, Lee Vann Photography

    • Any interested members can sign up online

    • Current members able to be wine-pouring station

    • Lee Vann Photography; 260 Howard & College

      • What do we name that area over there for the banners and brochures?

        • Icehouse? Howard Bend?

      • Dano working on the “Walk Your City” signs and app

  • Renewing Members: Kirkwood UCC

    • PENDING: The Element at Kirkwood- Waiting on $100 check

    • Avila? Once they open in November

 

12:30: Monthly Meeting & Business Mixers: Chair: Mehrnush Saadat of Blue Ink Title

  • Next Mixer: MONDAY 07-17-17,  5:00 - 7:00 pm at Atlanta Clay Works

    • Clay making demo, snacks and wine!

 

11:30: Wine Stroll Committee (Chair Randy Brazee- Homes for Atlanta SAVE THE DATE: 11th Annual Kirkwood Wine Stroll is Friday September 22, 2017 from 7:00-10:00PM- New Times!

  • Wine Pouring Station Sign Up: Feb 20-June 30,2017   25% SOLD; Only 30 left.   

    • Must be a member

    • Current Stations: Augusta Designs, WHOLESOME WAVE GEORGIA, Kirkyard Public House, Urban Pie, The Pullman, Homes For Atlanta - Keller Williams Realty, Guitar Shed

      • No processing fees if purchase at booth; Jennifer to make more tickets available at $30

      • Businesses could purchase a couple extra tickets @ $30 and offer as a raffle or giveaway

      • Will also have PROMO CODES available for KBOA members/wine-pouring stations

  • Wine Stroll Committee Meetings:  Thursday June 29 @ 6PM- Randy’s House

    • Last Meeting was 05/15; meetings are open to anyone!

  • Non Profit Organization Donation Submission ; create more of a formal process for submission and review. Non-profits and civic organization (must have 501c3) with specific projects/programs in 2018 in the Kirkwood area. Push out to any organizations that might be interested:

    • Submission Deadline: July 18, 2017

    • Announcement of Award: August 15, 2017

    • Wine Stroll: September 22, 2017

 

11:45: New Business:

  • Guitar Shed; song-writing clinic this weekend

    • Cosmic Debris is the adult band out of GS; played at Kirkyard

    • Summer Recital is June 11th

  • Electric vehicle charging stations

    • Georgia Power engineers have come out; 1 or 2 spots either at library or Bessie Branham Park

    • Also looking for 2 spots in downtown Kirkwood (Sherwin Williams? Lankfords? The Kirkwood?)

      • KBOA/KNO could help financially?

    • Georgia House District 89 candidate

      • Public Transportation/ Public Schools/ EOP Employment/ Anti-Discrimination/ Criminal Justice Reform/ Board of Green Law

    • KUCC looking to have an open house soon; had first worship service this past weekend

    • Language International Kids will be at Spring Fling; Summer Camp info available (send to Emily)
